What day of the week is it...come on you know...

That's Right! Weigh in day. Nothing new. Absolutely NADA! Another week passed by and yet again my scale tells me I am STILL 185lbs. So, the cleanse, the water and the excercise (what little I did) helped me not. Okay, so this is getting stupid already, but I will plug away and plod on in the hopes that I will lose this weight by the end of July.

Last night in our chat Fran optimistically (that's how I perceived it) told me I have to lose about a pound a week between now and then. HA!!! If these last 3 weeks are any indication...I AM IN TROUBLE! 3 Weeks have gone by and not one pound dropped. Ugh!

Well, I will get back to the grindstone tomorrow and will see you here next week when I say....

After Reading...

After reading an excellent book. I decided to check out Fran's blog and see if she has posted her number. She hasn't so I started cruising around and found my self on her friend's blog and laughing myself silly over the disney dolls and comments about questions asked by potential tourists to our winter games. One funny lady. Sometimes that is all we need to turn our day around, a good chuckle be it from a friend or something someone in said in passing.

Back to the book I just finished. The author Patricia Cornwell grabbed my attention back in 2001. She writes about crimes and her main character "Kay Scarpetta" is the forensic pathologist in charge of solving these mysteries. Excellent writing and character development. I would suggest starting at the beginning with her books. Her characters (especially Dr. Scarpetta) evolve with each and every book Ms. Cornwell writes. The book I just finished is called BOOK OF THE DEAD, (should be underlined as it is a novel but can't get that done here). If you are interested in her books they can be bought just about anywhere and certainly can be found at the library. I checked out Amazon and yes they are listed there. There is a website too where you can buy her books direct for a reasonable price www.patriciacornwell.com if you care to check it out. If you do, I hope you enjoy her books as much as I do and find the writing fascinating and her plot lines gripping. Happy reading!

Today's number...

After a week of bitter cold weather, no walking, some yoga and a computer glich that to this day is not 100% resolved (no email yet) I have a number to give you. I guess I should be somewhat happy with this weeks number, but..I am not. I guess I could say (see last week) same number, same damn place on the scale and me getting fed up already. I will be doing a cleanse this week and I have started the Acai berry supplement to increase my metabolism but why should this help, nothing else has. I am ready to throw the towel in for truly I can't seem to break this 180 barrier that has been in existence for the past 6 months or so...FED UP! Now I know how Fran was feeling a week or so ago, completely and utterly frustrated. Hope your numbers are better Fran than mine.

I will hopefully have my computer issues settled soon because I miss my chats with my friend and support person Fran. Have a great week and good luck in weight loss. I have given up.

Just another Monday...

Good morning all. Well my magic number this morning is 185lbs.

Not bad considering yesterday was my b'day and I did have a fantastic meal for dinner. I pretty much starved myself the rest of the day except for the 2 or three glasses of wine I had before dinner. No b'day cake for this girl though. I tried to stay on the healthy side. Had all fresh vegies sauteed in olive oil. There was a homemade 3 mushroom soup and a baby spinach salad for appetizers then the steak Diane with Rosemary roasted red potatoes....yummmmm...delicious! Steak Diane is a steak (supposed to be tenderloin) with a red wine, onion and mushroom demi glace. Desert was a fresh berry flan with a light custard. Oh so tasty but oh so naughty...*LOL*.

I have been true to my regimen of walking again too. This week I hope to add the yoga after work at night for half an hour a day. Start out slow and watch it go. One step at a time seems to work for me these days.

Here's hoping all who read this have a great week and pounds slide off.

Too much chocolate and it's Monday...Again!

My number today is once again higher than I would like it to be 187lbs. Okay so the painful part is out of the way now for the reasoning, and I think you can guess.

With Christmas and New Years I tend to over do it on the chocolate and this year (regardless of my resolve) was no different. So, the chocolate is almost gone, Christmas and New Years are out of the way and the next nasty (my birthday) is just around the corner so with this out of the way my weight should be going down again. Sean said don't sweat it, you can lose it again.

Today I will start my walking (despite the snow, wind and cold temps.) and yoga again. This will help as will the return to no sugar in my daily food intake.

I hope Frans' number is better than mine. If not, we can grumble together.

Winter Vacations...

My friend Fran is excited to have booked and confirmed her Mexico vacation. I am happy and excited for her. I used to envy and be jealous of people who took winter vacations. Now, I am more happy for the person than I am envious. I realized these people work just as hard as me, have saved and earned the money to go, and damnit they should go. So, Fran have a great time. I hope you get as brown as a berry. I want that swinsuit to fit you when the time comes. I hope other women at the resort envy your svelt body (lol) that every hot cabanna boy (I know they don't have them there, but it sounds so good) trips over themselves to serve you. You deserve a great holiday!

Have I ever been on a winter vacation to some exotic place? No. Will I ever? The hope is there and if things go right, you never know, maybe by this time next year I will have enough money saved to go away. It really is a wait and see kind of thing.

What I would really like to do is win a huge lottery and travel the world. Then when I am travelled out, build my own little Inn in some exotic land and have travellers visit me when I feel like catering to people. Although it is a far fetched dream, it is what has kept my boat afloat for the last year. It is little help, but it is a help. When times are tough I try to find one small thing to keep me going. I focus on that one thing and I make it through. It is not always easy, but it works if I stay focussed. And, saying that, I am determined to one day have at least one winter vacation.
